Colac is a regional city in Victoria, Australia, approximately 150 kilometres south-west of Melbourne. The city sits on the southern shore of Lake Colac and the surrounding volcanic plains, approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi) inland from Bass Strait.

The city is a major stop-over location for the 900,000 international visitors annually to the Great Ocean Road region which features the 12 Apostles. Visitors from China are the biggest group.

The Shire Council and Chamber of Commerce have lead the charge to have Colac become the first community to be accredited as a Chinese Friendly Community by G’day Friends.
